These mechanisms, operating under state responsibility and based on the value of statehood that Ben-Gurion established, were significant and essential for the country\u2019s future. One such mechanism was the body of state employees. Ben-Gurion viewed these state clerks as statehood figures, committed to responsibility, similar to the nation\u2019s leaders and judges. According to his perspective, state employees should act in a universal and impartial manner, without discrimination or favoritism.
